Student Introduction to Engineering (SITE) is a dynamic, three-day immersive program designed for newly admitted students to the Grainger College of Engineering. Throughout the weekend, participants will stay at the Illini Union Hotel and experience life as a Grainger engineer through interactive activities, hands-on design challenges, and opportunities to connect with current students.
The program features department tours, design competitions, student organization showcases, and exclusive Q&A panels covering research, internships, and study abroad opportunities. Participants will also explore campus resources, eat in dining halls, and learn about student life at UIUC directly from current Grainger engineering students.
SITE is fully coordinated and hosted by the Engineering Outreach Bureau (EOB) and Undergraduate Recruitment Department, whose members guide students through each activity while creating an engaging and welcoming environment for all attendees.
